ACCESS FOR ALL (Program: BRAD01)

The Access for All program counts as one (1) Health, Safety and Welfare Learning Unit.

Access for All has four learning objectives:

  • Review the principles of accessibility and universal design
  • Review the regulations governing accessibility in the toilet room
  • Understand the components of accessible toilet room design.
  • Learn how restroom fixture and accessory selection can improve toilet accessibility for all users.

DESIGNING FOR SAFETY (Program: BRAD02)

The Designing for Safety program counts as one (1) Health, Safety and Welfare Learning Unit.

Designing for Safety has three learning objectives:

  • Understand the use of emergency eyewash and shower equipment in the workplace and teaching environments.
  • Review the regulations and design practices for locating and specifying emergency eyewash and shower equipment.
  • Understand how to meet tepid water requirements for emergency fixtures by using thermostatic mixing valves.

SOLID SURFACE SOLUTIONS FOR WASH STATIONS (Program: BRAD05)

The Solid Surface program counts as one (1) HSW Learning Unit.

Solid Surface has three learning objectives:

  • List the health, functional, and aesthetic issues related to public wash station design.
  • List the history, benefits, and limitations of Solid Surface Material.
  • Select appropriate materials for commercial and institutional wash stations.

Sustainability, Water Conservation and LEED Projects (Program: BRAD06)

This program counts as one (1) HSW/SD Learning Unit.

Water Conservation has four learning objectives:

  • Formulate water conserving design strategies in the context of sustainability.
  • Explain emerging water conservation issues as reflected in LEED rating systems.
  • Identify potential water use reduction credits based on LEED rating systems.
  • Specify sustainable plumbing systems and fixtures based on LEED requirements.

SUSTAINABLE HIGH PERFORMANCE TOILET ROOMS (Program: BRAD07)

The LEED program counts as one (1) HSW/SD Learning Unit.

This program has four learning objectives:

  • Formulate water and energy conservation strategies in the context of toilet room design.
  • Apply the sustainability principles that apply to toilet room design.
  • Comply with LEED credit requriements related to toilet room design and operation.
  • Select toilet room fixtures and accessories that reduce energy and water use and improve environmentally quality
